About the Team
The Icepack are part of the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) Division II and they play in the Atlantic Coast Collegiate Hockey League (ACCHL). The schedule also includes NC State’s major rivals like UNC and Duke. The season is around 25 games long not including league playoffs, regionals, and nationals.
Head Coach: Mike Gazzillo (since 2010)
Coach Gazzillo moved to North Carolina in 2008 from Long Island New York. He holds a level 5 coaching certification from USA Hockey. He brings 30 years of playing and 18+ years of coaching experience to the team. He has been a travel head coach at every age group from Mites through Midgets, and has also served as an assistant and head coach at the Freshman, JV and Varsity levels of the SCHSHL in New York. He’s been coaching at the college level since 2005. He has also previously served as an assistant to rival UNC Chapel Hill but is happy he has found a new home with the Wolfpack! He resides in Morrisville and the proud parent of two grown children Nick and Angela.
Assistant Coach: Tim Healy (since 2017)
Coach Healy, a native upstate New York brings a prep school coaching background to Raleigh, having coached at Worcester Academy, Tilton School and Proctor Academy. Coach Healy works with the defense and special teams. By day Coach Healy is the Dean of Students at Saint Mary's School. He resides in the shadow of the NC State Bell Tower with his wife Mary-Ellen and hockey playing daughters Meredith and Bridget.
Goalie Coach: Alex Rossetto (since 2016)
Coach Rossetto hails from Detroit, Michigan and has been a long time goalie coach in the Raleigh area. An Air Force veteran, Rossetto is noted for ability to simplify the goaltending position to achieve success. Coach Rossetto is an E Support Architect at Lenovo and resides in Holley Springs with his wife Lauren and children who are also rink rats, Dominic and AJ.

How many games does the team play in a season?
Usually about 25 games per year. This includes 23 conference/non-conference games plus the end of season ACCHL Tournament.
How often does the team practice?
Currently, the team practices on-ice twice per week at the Raleigh Iceplex in Raleigh, NC. The team also works out at Carmichael Gymnasium.
Is there any experience needed to play?
Tryouts for our organization are competitive, though all players of experience and backgrounds are welcome to tryout.
